LEBONG’S EXCITING NATURAL TOURISM OBJECTS

Bioa Putiak, in Bahasa Indonesia is called 'Air Putih' or 'Air Bening' means clean or pure water .

Bioa Putiak Hot Spring is one of the most attractive natural tourism objects in Bengkulu Province. It is located about a stone throw from the highway of Air Kopras Village,  in Lebong Utara Sub-district, Lebong Regency, Bengkulu Province. It is about 10 km to East from Muara Aman City (as the second main city of Lebong Regency after Tubei as the Capital City of the Regency).

Actually, there are two kinds of spring water here. They are the cold water and the hot water which naturally flow and meet in one spot in a river. The hot spring is very attractive, because it naturally comes out of the earth, whereas there is no  found any volcanic mountains nearby the area.

It gives a different sensation, due to with the beautiful natural scenery surrounding its location, the visitors are allowed to have a steam bathing in the river where the warm water flows between the natural rocks. In some area, where the water is much hotter, can even be used to boil eggs. It is so amazing!

The nature area where the hot spring is presented with river stones, it creates a wonderful combination. Moreover, the highland wonderful view makes you pleasurable enjoying the beautiful natural scenery, including breathing with fresh air originally produced by the rainforest of Sumatra Hill Series (Bukit Barisan Sumatra) surrounding this area.

In this location has been built a shelter as a place to take a rest after or even before you have a looking around.
To reach this location, there are two choices. First you can go there through North Bengkulu Regency, by passing Giri Mulya Village where coffee plantations are along the road side. That will be your own nice natural scenery while going to your destination place. The second alternative from Bengkulu City is through Kepahing (Kepahiang Regency), and then Curup (Rejang Lebong Regency). By going through this way, you will pass by the Lake Tes.
Bioa Putiak Hot Spring has so many visitors, especially in holiday by local and domestic tourists. Look at those amazing pictures. Can you imagine how cool it is? Just make a plan to come to Rejang Land soon. :)

Lake Tes is also one the most beautiful natural tourism objects in Lebong Regency. It is one of the biggest lakes in Indonesia. Lake Tes is the main and as a Central of Hydroelectricity (hydropower) supplier for almost whole of Bengkulu Province. Whole area of this is about 750 Ha. Located at Kutai Donok Village, it is about an hour traveling from Muara Aman. It can be traveled by public transportation, or rental car which is easy to find around the cities, or even by motorcycle.






In Lake Tes, you can enjoy beautiful natural scenery with the fresh and cool air, a tranquil expanse of lake and hills series surrounding the lake. Here, you can also witness the activities of villagers around the lake that the majority of livelihood of farmers and fishermen who are doing activities such as processing rice fields, fishing and catching fish in the lake.









If you want something a bit different, you can rent a rowboat or canoes (local people call it Biduk). You may rent them to get around down the lake while enjoying the beautiful scenery and naturally fresh air. Moreover, there are also motor-boats you can use to surround the lake.



Not only getting those nice offers, you can also do educational tour by visiting the Central Hydroelectricity, which is only about 2km from the lake. There you can learn many things about the hydroelectric system. Don’t miss it to come to Lake Tes to be one of your destinations if you pay a visit to Bengkulu.

Based on the Decree of Forestry Minister No. 385/Kpts-II/1985, December 27th 1985.
Lake Tes including in an area width: 3.230 Hectare.

Potential Growth of Flora:
The flora that grows around the area are: Meranti, Dyera costulata, Kayu Gadis, Pulai, Gelam, and other plants which mostly also grow in almost all of Bengkulu Province parts.

Fauna: tigers, gibbons, several kinds of monkey, snakes, bears, many kinds of domestic birds, forest dogs, and so many types of domestic fish and wild animals.

Nearest village: Karang Anyar, Kutai Donok, Talang Ratu Village.
Subdistrict: South Lebong

Province: Bengkulu

Geographical Position:
Geographically, located between 3'-11''- 3'20'' S and 102'-18''-102'-36'' E.

Generally, 600 to 950m above the sea level.

Based on Geological Map and Map Prop. Land Bengkulu scale 1: 500,000:
- Structure of Geology: Rocks and Tuva Resen Vulkan
- Type of Soil: Litosol, Regosol
- Material Master: Frozen Rock and Vulcan

Climate:
Based on climate division Schmidt and Feerguson including the type of climate (A).

Accessibility:
To reach the location from Bengkulu City, you can use any types of vehicles.
